SUNMI PARK
SunMi Park is a Soloist with American Ballet Theatre. Originally from Seoul, South Korea, she trained at the Korea National University of Arts before joining ABT Studio Company, where she began performing works that nurtured her passion for both classical and contemporary ballet. Since joining the main company, she’s performed leading roles including Myrtha in Giselle, Tita in Like Water for Chocolate, and Clara in Alexei Ratmansky’s The Nutcracker.
She’s deeply drawn to roles that allow her to explore emotional depth, strength, and vulnerability through movement. Performing with ABT has given her the opportunity to work with remarkable choreographers such as Alexei Ratmansky and Christopher Wheeldon, whose creations continue to challenge and inspire her as an artist.
Through every performance, she strives to bring honesty, grace, and musicality to her dancing — qualities that reflect both her Korean heritage and her ongoing artistic journey with American Ballet Theatre in New York.
