Betsy McBride is originally from Coppell, Texas. She began her training at the Ballet Academy of Texas and then continued her training at Texas Ballet Theater’s School where she joined the company under O.B.E. Ben Stevenson. McBride danced for Texas Ballet Theater, rising through the ranks to principal dancer, from 2007 to 2015. McBride joined American Ballet Theatre as a member of the corps de ballet in June 2015 and was promoted to Soloist in September 2022. She has danced numerous soloist and principal roles in ABT’s repertoire. McBride danced the role of Bathilde in Joshua Beamish’s premiere of @giselle in Vancouver in 2019 and then performed the title role @giselle in New York City in 2023. She has also performed in other works by Joshua Beamish during his New York seasons.
