Raised in Vancouver, Ru Christogeorge has strong connectons with the BC dance world, spanning over the last twenty-five years. Her daughter is an accomplished professional ballet and contemporary dancer. Ru has been involved with prominent dance schools and dance companies locally, and in Toronto, New York City and San Francisco.

After her university studies in the early 1980’s, Ru began her professional career in retail fashion management, before moving on to senior management with a prominent BC company.

In the early 1990’s, Ru went back to her roots and took over running the small family business, importing and wholesaling natural and organic products in the Natural Health Industry. Ru was especially adept at recognizing new products in their infancy. Many of these startup companies now have well recognized household brands across Canada. Her company expanded nationwide, representing thousands of products and serving hundreds of prominent retail outlets. The company expanded their Vancouver facility, adding a distribution facility in Toronto, with a sales team spanning coast to coast. In 2019, Ru sold her company and retired from the industry.

Having designed and built her first home in the eighties, Ru recently constructed her new ‘west coast contemporary’ multi-family home in Vancouver, a project that has received extensive praise and local buzz.

Ru is a keen advocate of the performing arts and believes that dance, in all its forms, bonds us inextricably to the human condition. She is honoured to be a board member of BALLET VANCOUVER, providing her an opportunity to combine her passion for the performing arts with support for the ongoing talent and success of Joshua Beamish and his innovative creative team.
