PAUL KINNISTON
BOARD MEMBER
Paul’s passion for ballet developed while working backstage as a physiotherapist with Ballet BC and Arts Umbrella. He has also worked extensively with amateur ballet organizations throughout the city, giving him an opportunity to work with dancers of all levels, including his daughter, who currently trains at Grand Ballet Vancouver.
Professionally, Paul is a physiotherapist and partner at PainPRO Therapeutics, a 6 clinic allied health organization with almost 100 practitioners. While working as a physiotherapist, Paul is responsible for training physiotherapists across the lower mainland, as well as working closely with graduate students from the University of British Columbia as a Clinical Instructor while they complete their physiotherapy education. PainPRO has developed relationships with both grassroots and professional organizations throughout the Greater Vancouver area and is a long-term sponsor of the dance program at Arts Umbrella. Those relationships highlight how ballet touches the community not just as an art form, but also as a social catalyst, and a great source of fun and physical activity.
While not a dancer himself, Paul spends his spare time marathon running, playing football, and spending as much time as possible with his wife and twins.
