FRANCESCO GABRIELE FROLA
Principal Dancer, San Francisco Ballet
Francesco Gabriele Frola, born in Aosta, Italy, began his dance training at his parents' school, Professione Danza Parma, where he studied until the age of 15. He then continued his training at the Hamburg Ballet School under the direction of John Neumeier, and later at Fomento Artístico Cordobés in Mexico.
In 2010, he was awarded an apprenticeship contract with the National Ballet of Canada at the Prix de Lausanne, and two years later he joined the company’s corps de ballet.
He was promoted to First Soloist in 2015, and in 2018 to Principal Dancer. That same year, he also joined the English National Ballet as a Principal Dancer, holding the title with both companies simultaneously.
In 2020, he was named Lead Principal with the English National Ballet and in 2025, he joined the San Francisco Ballet as a Principal Dancer.
He has performed on many of the world’s leading stages and has appeared in numerous international galas worldwide.
