ANDRAS GORZO
Andras Gorzo is a passionate and innovative artist from Norfolk County, Ontario, who is not afraid to push boundaries in dance. Andras trained at Canada’s National Ballet School (NBS), spending two years in their Professional Ballet-Academic Program and upon graduating, trained for another two years in their Company Life Program.
After discovering his passion for dance in Norfolk County and training in a wide range of dance forms, Andras decided that he wanted to further explore the language of ballet. He began his first years of professional training at the Quinte Ballet School of Canada and the Niagara Ballet School. At 16, he was invited to study full-time at NBS. In addition to his regular training, Andras has had several other opportunities to expand his knowledge in dance, including two summers at Arts Umbrella’s ISDI in Vancouver, a student exchange with the Akademie des Tanzes in Mannheim, Germany, and six weeks with Ballet Jörgen’s Junior Company in Toronto. Andras also has a passion for choreography and has set multiple works on himself, students of NBS, and aspiring young dancers from his hometown.
His performances include appearances with The National Ballet of Canada and Esie Mensah Creations, as well as choreographies by Aszure Barton, Jera Wolfe, John Alleyne, Silas Farley, Peggy Baker, Robert Binet, and James Kudelka.
Andras is thrilled to be starting this new chapter with Ballet Vancouver.
