BENJAMIN FREEMANTLE

Benjamin Freemantle began his training in Vancouver, Canada, at the Caulfield School of Dance before earning a full scholarship to the San Francisco Ballet School at age 15. Joining San Francisco Ballet in 2015, he quickly stood out for his range and artistry, rising to Principal Dancer by 2019. Freemantle has captivated audiences in leading roles across full-length ballets and contemporary works, performing masterpieces by George Balanchine, Christopher Wheeldon, Jerome Robbins, and Helgi Tomasson.

Since relocating to New York City in 2022, Benjamin has expanded his career across stage, film, and TV. He appeared as the lead sailor in Bradley Cooper’s Maestro, danced in Twyla Tharp’s company at New York City Center, and originated a role in Angel Island at BAM. He continues to perform as a Guest Principal Artist with major ballet companies, like Pacific Northwest Ballet and in international Galas with YAGP.
